254,124. Richardsons, Westgarth, & Co., Taylor, L., and Oldfield, G. H. Aug. 1, 1925. Water-tube boilers.-A boiler of the kind in which nests of tubes connected to top and bottom headers are arranged in banks, and in which a steam and water drum connected to the top headers is placed at the top of a triangular space between the banks, consists of a front bank of inclined tubes a and two rear banks of vertical tubes d, g, the lower headers b, e of the front bank and the first rear bank being connected by tubes r and the lower headers e, h of the first and second rear banks being unconnected. Vertical partitions s in the upper headers k of the second rear bank force the feed entering through inlets t to pass downwards and upwards through the second rear bank before entering the upper drums f of the first rear bank. A superheater w is fitted in the triangular space between the front bank of tubes and the rear banks.
