Water-tube boilers.-In a water tube boiler having upper and lower drums A, B connected by a bank of tubes C the tubes of the outer longitudinal row of which are placed closely together to form a wall, a superheater D is inserted between transverse tube rows through gaps in the tube wall formed by bending some of the tubes c<2> of the wall for a part of their length behind adjacent tubes c<1>. The superheating tubes may pass upwardly into the tube bank, and the gaps in the tube wall mav extend to the bottom drum.
