Abstract

155,323. Endo, K. Aug. 12, 1919. Water-tube boilers.-The tubes 17, 18 of a water-tube boiler open into inclined longitudinal pipes 15, 15<1>, which are connected at their rear ends to the bottom of the upper transverse drums 1 6, and are supported at their front ends that they may expand and contact independently of the drums. The boiler comprises front and rear transverse upper drums connected by superheating tubes 8. and two lower longitudinal side drums 10, 10'. The water is fed into interconnected spaces 12 formed by partitions 11 in the water drums and rises into the upper drums through tubes 17 and pipes 15, then returning to the lower drums through the tube groups 18. Steam-generating drums 20 arranged longitudinally between the groups of tubes are connected to the lower drums and to the rear upper drum by circulation pipes 21, 22.
