367,206. Fuel economizers for stoves. PAXTON, T. R. and PAXTON, J. A., Gatefoot Mill, Staveley, near Kendal, Westmorland. March 12, 1931, No. 7669. [Class 126.] A device for standing in the fire space in front of the. boiler of a stove to form a cavity 14 communicating at the bottom with the boiler flue 19, is provided at the top with an opening 17, so that the combustion products pass downwards through the cavity 14. The construction shown comprises a plate 10 with side flanges which bear against the face of the boiler, and with an upper hood-like portion 18 forming the opening 17 through which the fire gases pass. Vertical ribs 21 increase the heating surface of the plate and internal inclined ribs 22 assist in imparting heat to the gases passing down the space 14.
