Abstract

321,388. Bennis, A. W. Dec. 28, 1928. Divided on 316,957. Pulverulent - fuel burners. - Pulverulent fuel and primary air conveyed by a conduit 27 and secondary air conveyed by a conduit 28 are discharged through inclined orifices 20 so as to impinge on a base member or reaction piece 16 so that a violent reversal of flow and turbulence of the mixture is caused in the mixing chamber before the mixture is discharged from the burner mouth 29. The reaction piece 16 may be adjusted by means of a screwed spindle 17 and is surrounded by two half sleeves 30 which may be adjusted independently by means of screwed spindles 35 to regulate the orifices 20. The mouth of the burner may be formed separately from the body portion and be fitted internally with adjustable spiral vanes.
