Abstract
528,018. Liquid or pulverulent fuel burners. PERRETTI, A. April 26, 1939, No. 12516. Convention date. April 26, 1938. [Class 75 (i)] Liquid or pulverulent fuel, or a mixture of such fuels with gas is supplied through a pipe 4 to a discharge passage formed between a cup 3 secured to an air discharge pipe 1 and a cup 6 secured to a sleeve 8 which is rotated on ballbearings 9 about the pipe 4 by the air discharged from a pipe 12 past a rotor 18 carrying inclined vanes 19. The cups 3, 6 are formed with apertures 25, 24 to allow jets to impinge from both sides on the fuel, the apertures 25 being regulatable by a star-valve 26 operated by a handwheel 28. The cup 6 extends beyond the cup 3 to form a conical passage 3' which may be adjusted by means of a threaded-spindle 29 acting on the pipe 1. A cup 22 may be provided within the cup 3 to form a conical air passage 23. The speed of rotation of the cup 6 may be adjusted by means of a brake 33 engaging the rotor 18.
