Abstract
486,040. Liquid - - fuel burners. HAUTON, P. Nov. 30, 1936, No. 32824. [Class 75 (i)] Liquid fuel supplied to a central tube 4 through an inlet 2 in the burner body 1 is delivered through inclined bores 10 to an annular dispersing face 5 covered by a cap 8. An atomizing agent such as steam or air is supplied through an inlet 3 in the burner body to an annular channel between an adjustable member 6 and the tube 4. The liquid fuel is discharged between projections 11 on the face 5 into the annular channel for atomization by the steam or air at some distance from the outlet of the channel. The face 5 may be curved or conical and the annular channel may be shaped to give a horizontal, inclined, or a vertical flame.
