Air, supplying; fire-bridges; baffles.-In a boiler or other furnace, a combustion chamber is provided between the bridge wall b and a wall c, the top of each wall being curved, as shown, and the wall c being higher than the wall b. Air is supplied to the combustion chamber through pipes f arranged at the sides of the grate, the supply being regulated by valves g provided at the front ends of the pipes. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifeations 10764/85 and 156,364.
