Abstract

681,450. Burners. OESTRICH, H. March 13, 1950 [March 15, 1949], No. 6266/50. Class 75(i) In a fuel burner having coaxial inner 1 and outer 2 sleeves forming an annular passage 4 therebetween for secondary air whilst fuel and primary air are delivered through the sleeve 1 a plurality of forwardly directed concave members 6 are circumferentially spaced and radially disposed across the annular secondary air passage 4 to form forwardly inclined bridges between the front edges of the inner and outer sleeves 1, 2. The members 6 may, on one side of the burner, be spaced closer toegther or made wider or a combination of both to alter the amount of secondary air passing to one side of the burner and thus shift the point of maximum burner temperature from the burner axis. The fuel nozzle 7 is protected from the flames by the front converging section of the double cone-shaped inner sleeve 1.
