551,914. Atmospheric gas burners. SHORT, R. V., and GREAVES, A..H. Feb. 21, 1942, No. 2327. [Class 75 (i)] An injector type gas burner comprises a mixing tube 1 and a jet 2, the mixing tube having a lower bore p tapering at an inclined shoulder ef above the air holes c to an upper smaller bore b of not less than four-fifths the diameter of the lower bore p and the jet 2 arranged with its upper extremity just above the holes c and having an inclined shoulder hk spaced from the shoulder ef by a distance not more than one third or less than one sixth the diameter of the bore b. A mixture incapable of flashing back is stated to be formed in the mixing tube and ratio of air to gas is stated to be directly proportional to the amount of gas supplied.
