Abstract

442,104. Luggage-carriers. ASHBY & SONS, Ltd., F., and ASHBY, F., Bournville, Charlotte Road, Stirchley, Birmingham. Dec. 19, 1934, No. 36362. [Class 136 (i)] A luggage-carrier of the pannier type for cycles and comprising a depending frame 4 at each side of the platform 1, is attached at each side to the seat stay 2 of the cycle by a forwardly - extend - ing arm or bar 5, which is rigidly attached at its rear end to the frame 4, the front end of the arm 5 forming one side of a two-part clip or clamping-device adapted to embrace or engage the seat stay 2. The clip may comprise an outer curved bar or plate 8 and a pair of bolts 9. In order to provide for adjustment according to the inclination of the seat stays &c. each arm 5 is attached to the frame 4 by a pair of spaced bolts 10 passing through apertures in one member and slots 11 in the other member. The slots may be wider than the diameters of the bolts, so that the arm 5 may be adjusted through a limited angle.
