Abstract

223,846. Cundle, R. S. July 25,1923. Seat attachments.- A hand-rest for attachment to the lugagge-carrier of a motor-cycle &c. comprises a transverse bar 1 formed with longitudinal slots 2 to receive the locking-bolts 4 of clips 3 engaging the longitudinal bars 5 of the carrier, the hand-rest 10 being adjustably secured by a bolt 7 between uprights 1<a> at the ends of the bar 2. In a modification, the handrest is carried by slotted or loop members vertically adjustable on clips mounted on the uprights 1<a>. A back-rest formed of bent spring rods and a strap may be clamped to the uprights 1<a> by clips and bolts mounted in slots 6. The front end of a pillion saddle may be supported by a leaf spring from the centre of the bolt 7 (the hand-rest 10 being divided), and the rear end supported on the carrier.
