Abstract

520,010. Saddle supports. PATRICK, T. Jan. 27, 1939, No. 2793. [Class 136 (iii)] Means for mounting a saddle on a cycle comprise a rigid railway adapted to be supported at both ends on the cycle, a saddle-carrying chassis slidable on the railway so that the saddle may occupy various positions including a position directly over the cycle pedals, and means for locking the chassis against movement on the railway. As shown, a pair of tubes 5 are secured at one end to a pillar 3 and at the other end to the cycle frame by arms 7 and cross bolts 9. The tubes carry plates 13 with tubular portions 14, which are held in place by clamping screws 23a. The plates are spaced apart by a distance piece 20, and are slotted at 16 to receive hooks 15 which clamp the saddle 12 in position.
