Abstract

721,733. Luggage-carriers. ASHBY & SONS, Ltd., F. Oct. 20, 1953 [Dec. 15, 1952], No. 31683/52. Class 136(1). In a cycle pannier carrier each depending side frame has a bottom bar 3 to which an arm 10 for connecting the side frame to a rear stay 9 of a cycle frame is adjustably attached by means of spaced clips 11 slidable along the bottom bar and adapted to be secured thereto in the positions desired. Each clip 11 is apertured to receive a clamping bolt 12 fitted with a nut. The bolts 12 pass through spaced holes 13 in the arm 10, the holes being of a larger diameter than the bolts to allow the inclination of the arm 10 in relation to the bar 3 to be varied. The bottom bar 3 consists of a circular sectioned tube. In the modification, shown in Fig. 6, one of the bolts 12 passes through an arcuate slot 18 in the arm 10, the other bolt engaging a circular hole 18<SP>1</SP> in the arm.
