Abstract

843,352. Cycle luggage carriers. RALEIGH CYCLE CO. Ltd. Nov. 14, 1958 [Aug. 17, 1957], No. 26020/57. Class 136 (1). A strut member for a luggage carrier of the kind adapted to be secured at its forward end by means of a clamp to the backstay of a bicycle is so constructed at one end as to be secured by the clamp and shaped at the other end to engage the usual cross-member of the backstay, or the fixing thereat for the mudguard, thereby to prevent downward slipping movement of the clamp. The strut is T-shaped and has a stem portion a and a head b with a pair of curved wings c bent to project forwardly and to fit over a cross-tube of the cycle backstays. Holes d are provided in the stem to receive the bolt of the luggage carrier clamp.
