871,876. Cycle pedals. SPENCER, HEATH & GEORGE Ltd., and BATES, H. W. April 26, 1960 [May 25, 1959], No. 17791/59. Class 136(2). A foot-retaining fitting for a bicycle-pedal comprises a spring clip 20 which is removably attached to the axle 10, the clip being combined with a base plate 21 arranged to lie against the underside of a tread-member 14, and a strap 22 riveted at 23, 23 to the base plate 21, together with a buckle 24 to form a loop by which the rider's foot is secured to the fitting.
