Abstract

A drop stirrup which is attached to the saddle stirrup to enable a horse rider to mount into the saddle without any other assistance or the use of a mounting block. The drop stirrup comprises of three parts: Item 1. A flat metal ring. Item 2. A webbing strap which is sewn onto the metal ring. Item 3. A metal stirrup plate with a boot spring attached to one face fixed with two rivets. Item 4. Illustration showing fixing to the saddle stirrup. Attaching for use: The webbing is passed over the saddle stirrup as item 4 the end of which is passed through the metal ring thereby fixing the metal ring and webbing strap in a firm manner. The stirrup plate is then placed between the webbing strap by securing the webbing into the slotted ends of the stirrup plate. When mounted in the saddle the stirrup plate is removed by the rider and is then slipped into the top of the riders boot with the spring on the outside. The spring secures the plate safely until required again. The webbing strap is then collected into a compact position by pressing the velcro patches together. The velcro is pressed together 1-1, 2-2, 3-3.
