Abstract

Parachute harness includes two main suspension straps 1 secured to each other below the point of attachment 9 of shoulder straps 8 only by means of a quick release box 5. Further straps 3, are secured to the box by lugs 15 and to the straps 1 by stitching or adjustably by a buckle similar to buckle 10. Lower portions 6 of the straps 1 constructing. leg loops are formed with loops 7 through which the straps 4 are passed and are themselves passed through a strap 16 depending at the rear from a waist band 11 which is a continuation of the shoulder straps 8. The shoulder straps 8 may (not shown) also be integral with straps 3 which are adjustable in length. One end of the waist band 11 is threaded through a fixed member 12 on the quick release box and a lug 13 on the other end carries a ring 14 which is slipped in to the lug 15 of the adjacent strap 3 before it is connected to the box 5. A reserve parachute may be connected to the harness by rings 18 secured, one permanently at 19 (Fig. 5, not shown) and one detachably at 20-24, (Fig. 6, not shown) to straps 3 at their junction with main straps 1. A safety clip 25, Fig. 6, secured to cord 23 must be withdrawn from the box 5 before the other strap can be released. Alternatively a reserve parachute is connected to D-rings on the straps 1 by a quick release means. A further D-ring may be provided on each strap 1 for attaching weapons or packages.
