Abstract

870,215. Rucksack frames. WARD, R. Jan. 21, 1959 [Nov. 29, 1957], No. 37213/57. Class 133. A load carrying frame 10 comprises a main structure to which is secured the load and supported substantially vertically, a rear-! wardly extending plat-' form 10b and straps (not shown) for the porter's body which are attached to buckles 12 and 13, the latter highest point of attachment being below the upper edge of the main structure to permit a relatively high centre of gravity of the load. The upper part of the sheet forming the main structure slopes forward relative to the remainder. A sack 14, having spaced eyelets 14a an each side through which is laced a cord 15 to reduce the sack's cross-section when not full, is secured to the frame 10 by e.g. resilient press-studs 16 pushed through holes in two flaps 14b of the sack into corresponding holes in the frame.
