Abstract

844,388. Body harness. KAMPMANN, H. Feb. 4, 1957 [Feb. 4, 1956], No. 3836/57. Class 141 In a harness for carrying loads on the back of the person, flexible metal struts 10, 12 covered by strips 15, 13 are temporarily curved by means of adjustable straps 16, 17 which provide a cushion between the frame and the wearer's back. The frame includes also an upper strut 11 covered by a strip 14. Shoulder straps 30, 31 are secured at their upper ends to a ring 29 on the strut 11 and at their lower ends to straps 21. fixed to a horizontal support plate 23 which is also secured to extensions 22 of the strips 13. A load is retained on the support plate by straps engaged with hooks 26 at the upper part of the frame and with buckles 25 on the straps 21 and by a strap 27 carried by the strips 13. The strap 17 and the strip 15 are connected to the strut 12 by metal loops 20, 19 (not shown) engaging the slotted ends 18 of the strut.
