Abstract

1,198,175. Body harness. IRVING AIR CHUTE OF GREAT BRITAIN Ltd. 21 Feb., 1969 [8 March, 1968], No. 11525/68. Heading A3V. [Also in Divisions A5 and B8] The sling illustrated in Fig. 1 may be suspended by rings 22 to form a seat for a person as shown in Figs. 6, 7. In addition it may be used to support a stretcher 31, Fig. 4, as shown in Fig. 4 or Fig. 11 or Fig. 12. As shown in Fig. 12 the angle at which the stretcher is supported is adjusted by a strap 62 and buckle 67. Fig. 13 shows another form of sling which is similarly used to support a person with or without a stretcher 86, 87, Fig. 14. The sling forms part of a rescue kit comprising two slings and a stretcher and various auxilliary apparatus which is all housed in a canvas bag. The latter may be attached to the sling and used to lower a child or articles of rescue equipment. (For Figures 1, 4, 6, 7 and 11 see next page)
