Abstract

766,834. Trousers. BLOOM, H. S. July 19, 1955 [Aug. 9, 1954], No.'23102/54, Class 141. In trousers having a waistband 10 sewn thereto at its upper and lower edges, a further waistband 14 is provided which is sewn to the trousers at its upper edge only and is provided with co-operating hooks 18 and eyes 19 on its ends. The band 14 may be of petersham and may be widened at the back and stiffened with whalebone. The trousers are secured at the front by a button 21 and buttonhole 22 and by a hook 23 on an extension 24 engaging the usual loop. According to the Provisional Specification, trousers are provided with an internal elastic strap member which crosses the front opening to engage buttons at the other side thereof and a second similar strap member which engages buttons on the same side of the front opening. The strap members may be arranged in a tunnel and may be attached to the trousers by buttons. A strip of petersham secured at its upper edge only to the trousers may be provided to cover the elastic straps members or the tunnel, or to carry the tunnel.
