Abstract

785,792. Garment protectors. MEAKER, B. Aug. 17, 1955 [Dec. 21, 1954], No. 36921/54. Class 141. A detachable protector for the crotch portion of nether garments comprises a strip of cloth or paper having fastening means at its ends for detachably securing it to the garment and having portions 2c adapted to extend a short distance along the trouser legs. The strip is attached by loops 4 to the rear of the waistband and by a loop 10 to the lowermost fly button of the trousers; alternatively, buttons and bottonholes, press studs, hooks and eyes, zip fasteners or safety pins may be provided as fastening means. If the strip is made of paper, reinforced buttonholes are preferably provided, or, according to the Provisional Specification, thinner paper may be provided at the attachment positions so that buttons can be pushed through the paper.
