Abstract

466,828. Pyjamas &c. HORTON, H. A., and ROSE, L. A. Jan. 1, 1936, No. 47. [Class 141] A pyjama or similar garment comprises an upper or coat part 5 in one with or united to a trousers portion 6, an opening being provided which extends from the front of the garment, between the legs to the lower part of the back of the garment, the edge portions 8, 9, along the opening being shaped to form interfitting parts. The parts 8, 9, are preferably shaped as shown in Fig. 5, so that the part 8 interlocks with the part 9 which is of double-fold formation, and the parts 8, 9, are preferably secured together, e.g. by means of buttons and buttonholes 10, 11. The coat part 5 is provided at the waist with a laterally-projecting part which extends across the opening, and is secured to the other side thereof by means of buttons and buttonholes 13, 14. In a modification, the coat part of the garment is provided with two girdles which extend from opposite sides of the opening at the front of the garment, and pass through loops and slots so that they can be tied together around the waist. In another modification, the coat part may be single-breasted. In a further modification, the coat part is provided with a single girdle which extends from one side of the opening, through a slot or the like at the other side, around the back of the garment, and across the front thereof so as to be buttoned or similarly fastened on to that side of the garment provided with the slot. It is stated that the trousers portion may be cut as trunks or shorts, and that the garment may have elastic portions or insertions.
