Abstract
919,972. Cycle luggage carriers. FOONG U SAN. April 27, 1960 [July 8, 1959], No. 23459/59. Class 136(1). A handlebar carrier has a frame comprising fore and aft parts and a pair of lateral parts continuous with the fore and aft parts. the rear part having between its ends means to attach it to the mid-position of the handlebar with the said lateral parts abutting against the handlebar between the midposition and the ends of the handlebar. The frame members 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 are arranged to form an irregular hexagon whose rear 11 is engaged by a clip 12 with holes 13 by which it is secured to the central bolt of the handlebars. Tubular cushions 19 around the side members 10 rest on the outswept handlebars. Upon the cross-member 14 is hinged a fence 20 which can be raised perpendicular to the main frame. A clamping member 26 is hinged on a cross-bar 23 beneath a plate 21 which con- .nects the rear ends of the longitudinal members 16 and 17. A spring 24 keeps the member 26 depressed so that it tends to clamp articles on to the carrier. A socket 29 with a clamp 30 is provided in the clip 12 to hold the handle of an open umbrella.
