Abstract

574,793. Garment-drying racks. MILLER, J., and MILLER, E. Feb. 21, 1944, No. 3193. [Class 52 (v)] A portable drying rack for garments adapted to be clamped to a mantelpiece or shelves of varying thickness, comprises side supports A (for crossbars C) recessed at D and provided with clamp bars B which grip the underside of the mantelpiece by means of screws E, the screws E being provided with springs F to urge the clamp open. The wing nuts for tightening on the screws E may be located at the top. The clamp B is secured on the underside of the supports A by a screw H and is provided with a rubber &c. sleeve J at its outermost bent end. The rack may be pushed on to the mantelpiece and retain itself in position without tightening up the screws if the jaws of the clamp B are suitably spaced apart.
