743,029. Luggage carriers. HERCULES CYCLE & MOTOR CO., Ltd. July 21, 1954 [July 22, 1953], No. 20319/53. Class 136 (1). [Also in Group XVII] A load-carrying device for a bicycle comprises two baskets 12, each having carrier handles 18, and a carrier 5 fitted above the rear wheel of a bicycle and from which the baskets are adapted to be suspended one on each side of the wheel by hooks or clips 13, 14, enabling the baskets to be readily detached for hand conveying. The clips 13, 14 are made of spring strip with downwardly directed openings to engage and grip the tubular side members 6 of the carrier 5. The clips 13, 14 are attached by rivets 15 to the baskets. The longer portion of each clip 13 extends downwardly and is carried under the basket to afford fuller support.
