Abstract
504,906. Luggage-carriers. HAFELI, E. Dec. 12, 1938, No. 36220. [Class 136 (i)] In a removable device for holding articles on bicycle luggage-carriers, of the type in which a loop or frame is pivoted on the carrier so as to engage and hold the luggage under spring action, the pivot pin of the loop is pressed by the spring against the underside of the carrier frame or platform near its rear end, and is thus held in place without other fastening means. The pivot pin 2 of a luggageholding loop or frame 1 is controlled by a coiled spring 3, which is formed with a bent central part 6 engaging the end of the carrier frame 4 and with side arms 7, 8 looped around the limbs 9, 10 of the loop 1, the parts being so arranged that the spring 3 presses the ends of the pin 2 against the underside of the frame 4, or into indentations formed therein, whereby the holding device is removably held in place without fastenings.
