[Also in Group VII] An ear-or dress-clip comprises a support 1, e.g. of looped wire with parallel legs on which are pivotally mounted an internal prong 2 which car be set in an open or closed position and an ornament carrying shoe 4 which can be set in an open position as shown or in a closec position and forming a jaw of the clip, the prong 2 and shoe 4 being locked in their alternative positions by co-operation of flat sides on their pivotend portions with a plate spring 7 pivoted on the support 1; the prong 2 when in the closed position adapting the clip as an ear clip and when in the open position, projecting from the support 1 and co-operating with the ornament 6 in its closed position to grip material therebetween adapting the clip as an ornamental dress-clip or as a garment fastener. The plate-spring 7 is preferably detachably mounted and is curved. A crosspiece maintains the distance between the arms of the support 1 and serves as a stop for the plate-spring 7. A button on the prong 2 helps in manipulating the jaw into its alternative positions. The loop part of the support 1 has a ledge 11 to enhance the gripping effect of the clip on the ear.
