Abstract

746,412. Stapling pliers. LIGHTNING FASTENERS, Ltd. Feb. 15, 1954 [Feb. 17, 1953], No. 4343/54. Class 89 (3). In a pliers for attaching staple-like end stops to sliding clasp fasteners, the upper jaw 1 is provided with a spring tongue which engages under the cross-bar of the end stop 21 to hold it in position, while the lower jaw 3 is provided with an anvil 15 and a recess 13 to receive the fastener members. The end stop is positioned by shoulders 19 on the tongue 9 and a pin 17 limits the insertion of the fastener members into the pliers. The pliers may be of the pivoted jaw on sliding jaw type.
