745,834. Stapling. AERO ZIPP FASTENERS, Ltd. April 7, 1954 [April 10, 1953], No. 9780/53. Class 89 (3). In a stapling pliers for attaching a U-shaped end stop of a sliding clasp fastener, one jaw 4 is provided with a slidable strip 17 between which and a surface 15 on the jaw a stop is held while the jaws 4, 5 are moved together, the strip being withdrawn during clinching of the stop. The jaws 4, 5 may be pivoted to the handles 1, 2 at 6, 7 and may be operated by pins 11, 12 engaging slots in the jaws. The pins serve also to operate a cross-member 25 (not shown) which carries the strip 17. The strip is guided by a channel member 23 or two flanged members. In a modification the jaws are fixed to the handles.
