[Also in Group XXV] A tool for extracting a staple 1, Fig. 1, comprises a channel-member 5, Fig. 2, the sides 6 of which extend beyond the back at one end and are sloped to form noses 7. In use, the tool is pushed along the work-surface with the noses engaging loops 3. In another arrangement, a plier-like tool is provided, comprising a channel 8, Fig. 3, with spaced noses 14 at one end and having pivoted at 10, between the sides 12 thereof, a part 9 also having noses 13. In use, the noses are engaged in loops 3 and part 9 is pressed towards channel 8.
