Abstract

920,103. Stapling-machines. D. HAUBOLD. Oct. 18, 1960 [Oct. 20, 1959], No. 35735/60. Class 89 (3). A hand-operated stapler is provided with means for increasing the pressure on a stapledriver during separation of the staple from a strip, the subsequent pressure, while the staple is driven into a base of yieldable material, being reduced. A hand-operated lever 1 pivoted at 2 with an end 21 engaging the end of a slot in the guide 17 for a staple-driver 5, is provided with an auxiliary lever 18 pivoted on the lever 1 at 19. Finger pressure on the lever 18 gives increased pressure on the driving-end 20 when a staple is to be separated from the strip. A further lever-form of the invention is described and other arrangements using a spring and weight.
