765,057. Stapling. MUELLER, E. Sept. 9, 1953 [Sept. 23, 1952 ; July 14, 1953]. No. 24953/53. Class 89 (3). In a stapling device comprising a driver-operating arm 21 and a magazine 4 pivoted at 3 to a base 1, the staples 11 are fed by a spring-pressed pusher 12 along a saddle 10 within a trough 6 which can be projected from the front end of the magazine for reloading. When the trough is released by the disengagement therefrom of a detent 23 on a spring-pressed push-button 20, it is projected a short distance by the spring 13 acting through the pusher 12 and a front plate 7 and is then further withdrawn by hand. Movement of the trough is limited by a projection 25 thereon engaging a groove 26 in the magazine 4. The driver blade 9 is guided by a projection 19 on the magazine engaging a slot 9<SP>1</SP> therein. A drawer may be provided in the base 1 for spare staples. The spring 13 is guided by a roller 14 which may be mounted in open bearings on the magazine.
