Abstract

1415260 Stapling tools SIGNODE CORP 26 Jan 1973 [26 Jan 1972] 4136/73 Heading B4C [Also in Division E2] A stapling tool for attaching a staple type end stop to a sliding clasp fastener carried by stringer tape comprises a pair of levers 2, 3 pivoted together to form a jaw, one carrying an anvil 5 and the other provided with an operating finger 6 for actuating an ejector plate by which a staple is delivered from a magazine 1, and spaced projections 9, Figs. 1, 2 and 4, for positioning the fastener chain and holding the stringer tape against the anvil at each side of the fastener chain. The projections 9 may be in the form of loops made by bending back the bifurcated end of a leaf spring 11; alternatively, the projections 9 may be formed on the front plate 8, Fig. 3.
