Abstract

989,165. Stapling. I. BALDWIN. April 2, 1964 [April 5, 1963], No. 13616/64. Heading B4C. A stapling device in the form of pliers comprises two pivotally-connected members 10, 12 carrying opposed jaws 24, 26 for engaging opposite sides of the staple, the member 10 forming a magazine for the staple. The member 12 is provided with a channel-section for retaining a strip of staples 16, the strip being urged by a spring-loaded pusher 30 so that the leading staple is held against stops 24a, 26a formed on the jaws. The distance between the jaws is adjusted by means of a screw on the member 12.
