993,698. Die holders. M. HEYNEN, and E. HEYNEN. May 17, 1962 [May 24, 1961], No. 19126/62. Heading B3H. A clamping device comprises a table 3 with sides 2 and 7 between which a die or workpiece is positioned. Clamping is effected by hydraulic means 4 on one side of the workpiece acting against a wedge 9 and plate packing 8 at the other side. A gripping member 11 located between the workpiece and packing 8 is attached to the latter by a coil spring 12. The contact surfaces between the member 11 and the packing 8 are similarly curved to facilitate alignment due to minor irregularities in the surface of the die or workpiece. The surface of the stripping member is provided with annular ridges 20 for engaging the surface of the die or workpiece.
