Abstract

916,549. Vices. MASCHINENFABRIK HILMA G.m.b.H. Feb. 10, 1961 [Feb. 13, 1960], No. 4998/61. Class 61. In a down-thrust vice jaw provided with a roller 5 which bears directly against a workpiece 4 so that a linear contact is obtained between the roller and workpiece, the roller bears against a downwardly directed oblique surface 10a on a pressure member 10. The roller is rotatably mounted in a support block which is loosely connected by screws 9 to the pressure element 10. The vice shown is provided with a fixed jaw 2 and movable jaw 3, the pressure elements 10 being provided with angled foot portions 10b which overlap guideways on the lower part of the vice.
