1328195 Clamps TURNERSON Ltd 17 July 1972 [22 April 1971] 10769/71 Heading B3B [Also in Division B4] A workpiece clamping device comprises a base 1, a support 2 projecting from the base, a carrier 3 movable along the support 2, a clamping arm 4 pivoted to the carrier, a setting arm 5 also pivoted to the carrier and having a part 18 which is engageable with the support 2, and a screw threaded member 6 carried by one of the arms and which engages with the other arm or an element thereon, and by means of which the clamping arm can be urged angularly towards the base and also the setting arm can be urged about its pivot on the carrier such that the said part 18 engages with the support to secure the carrier 3 rigidly against movement relative to the support. The device may be used e.g. for a vertical drilling or reaming operation on workpieces 19 wherein the base 1 is clamped to a work-table, or the device may be incorporated as a bench vice, or as portable tool makers clamps.
