A drill &c. jig comprises means 8, 9 for positioning work 5 on a base 1, means 19, 20 by which the drill &c. guide-bush 18 can be positioned approximately, and means 29, 30b for effecting fine adjustment of the bush. A disc 4, turned by a key engaging upstanding pins, supports the work on base 1. Clamps 37 secure disc 4, and screws 12, 13 in adjustable keyed blocks 14, 15 clamp the work against the adjustable keyed members 8, 9, which may have flanges to engage the end of cylindrical work. The guide-bush 18 is in a slide 30 adjustable by nut 30b on a screw projecting from the slide and clamped to a block 25 by a screw 34 engaging a slotted plate 32 attached to the slide by screws 33. A tongue 25a on block 25 is pivoted at 26 to the arm 19, about which the block is adjustable by screws 29 in lugs 27. A slot 20 in the arm engages a post 21 secured, as by screw threads, to the base, a nut 23 clamping the arm against a shoulder on the post. Setting of the guide-bush is by slip-gauges between members 8, 9 and a setting pin in the bush, and central guide-holes 36 in the disc and base may be entered by the drill-end during drilling Alternatively, the work may be spaced from the disc by distance pieces.
