Abstract

879,878. Operating-table accessories. ALLEN & HANBURYS Ltd. April 29, 1960 [May 6, 1959], No. 15581/59. Class 81 (2). [Also in Group XXIII] A clamp for holding a fitting such as a lithotomy stirrup to an operating- table comprises a slide attachment 1 having a recess 2 in which the side bar of the table can be engaged, a spring-loaded plunger 3 to engage the side bar, an outwardly tapered frustoconical member 7 fixed against rotation to the attachment 1 by studs projecting from the cone 7 through the attachment 1 and adapted to be pressed against the side bar by the cone 7, two clamping members 8, 9 mounted so that they can rotate on a central pillar 6 which projects outwardly from the attachment 1 and cone 7, the adjacent faces of the two clamp members having opposed recesses 10, 11 to receive a rod of the stirrup &c., the two clamping members being held against rotation by a pin 14, and a locking screw 16 which works in the central pillar 6 and can be tightened to hold the members 8, 9 in clamping engagement with the rod and the cone 7 in clamping engagement with the recess 2.
