Abstract

In a gynecological examination and delivery chair having a back part (14) and a seat part (15), on the two sides of which a footrest (19, 20) and a thigh support (21, 22) are each individually adjustable and lockable, these are arranged via each a bearing sleeve (28) connected to each other, which is pivotally mounted in a vertical bore (26) of a support bearing (25) which forms part of a cantilever piece (23) attached to a side rail (10), so that regardless of the adaptation of the Footrests (19, 20) and the thigh supports (21, 22) on the body of a patient, these supports can be pivoted as a unit about a vertical axis.

Description

The invention relates to a device for supporting the legs on a gynecological examination and delivery chair, which has a back part which can be adjusted in any inclinations, a seat part and a leg part which, from a position aligned with the seat part, into a lowered position, in whole or in part, under the Seat part and the back part enabling position can be brought, as well as arranged on both sides of the chair frame, adjustable footrests and thigh supports.

Known chairs of this type are designed so that the patient can assume an essentially horizontal position, a seated position or an intermediate position. For this purpose, the chairs have a back part which can be pivoted from a horizontal position into a substantially vertical position, as well as a seat part arranged on the frame of the chair and a leg part which is lowered into a position from a position aligned with the seat part can be in which it can be fully or partially pushed under the seat part and the back part.

Oberschenkel vorgesehen. On the two side parts of the known chair frame, a head for the adjustable mounting of a rod is arranged, which has a footrest at one end. In this way, the rod can be adapted to the patient's respective leg length and converted into a desired, in essential vertical position can be pivoted to bring the legrest into the desired high position. A chair of this type is known from SE-PS 342 549 and 355 723. The possibilities of adjusting the footrests are, however, rather limited in these chairs, since the rods carrying the footrests can only be pivoted in one plane. In addition, no support is provided for the thighs on these chairs.

Furthermore, chairs of this type are known from US Pat. Nos. 1,622,313, 2,067,891 and 2,306,031, in which supports for the thighs are provided in connection with the footrests, but the adjustment options are not sufficient for a patient to enable the legs to be positioned according to their needs.

The invention is therefore based on the object to design a chair of the type mentioned so that the leg support parts can be easily adapted to the individual circumstances of a patient and the adjustable footrests together with the thigh supports can be pivoted about two mutually perpendicular axes.

This object is achieved according to the invention with the means which form the characterizing features of claim 1 and, in an advantageous development of these means, the characterizing features of claims 2 and 3.

  • 6 is a side perspective view of the leg support member;
  • Fig. 7 is a side view of the chair in a position in which the patient's thighs are essentially in a vertical position and the lower legs rest on the footrests pivoted inwards.

As can be seen from FIG. 7, the frame of the chair having side rails 10 rests on a height-adjustable support column 11 and can be pivoted as a whole about the axis 12.

The chair designated as a whole by 13 has an inclinable back part 14, a seat part 15 and a leg part 16 which can be brought into a position aligned with the seat part 15 or into a lowered position in which it is wholly or partly under the seat part 15 can be pushed.

A leg support device 17, 18 is arranged on both sides of the frame 10, the foot supports 19, 20 and has adjustable thigh supports 21, 22. In the following, essentially only the right-hand device 17 is described.

A bearing collar piece 23 is fastened to the spar 10 by means of bolts, as can be seen from FIGS. 4 and 5. The bearing collar piece 23 has a plate 24 fastened to the spar 10 by means of bolts and a support bearing 25 with a vertical cylindrical bore 26 which receives the cylindrical part 27 of a bearing sleeve 28 which has an upper flange 29 which is on the upper end face 30 of the Support bearing 25 rests (Fig. 3 and 4).

The cylindrical bore 31 of the bearing sleeve 28 receives the cylindrical vertical rod 32, which can be fixed in any desired height and angle by means of the bolt 33. In the same way, the bearing sleeve 28 is clamped in the support bearing 25 by means of a screw bolt 34.

A circular plate 35 is welded to the flange 29 of the bearing sleeve 28, on which a horizontal bearing journal 36 is arranged, which serves as a pivot bearing for the bearing head 37. The two-part bearing head 37 has a bore 38 extending perpendicularly to the side of the bearing journal 36 and in which the rod 39 can be clamped. The two parts 40, 41 of the bearing head 37 are connected to one another via a bolt 42 in order to avoid mutual pivoting. Each of these two parts 40, 41 has a semi-cylindrical recess which is open at the edge to form the bore 38. They are pressed against one another and thus against the plate 35 by means of a threaded head bolt 43 on which a lever 44 engages, so that the rod 39 clamped and the bearing head 37 is secured against pivoting.

The rod 39 has a plurality of annular grooves 45, into which a locking bolt 46 engages under the action of a spring, in order to secure the rod against longitudinal displacement. The rod 39 has at its front end a sleeve 47 arranged perpendicular to its axis, into which a bearing pin 48 connected to the footrest 19 engages, which is clamped by means of an adjusting screw actuated with the lever 49. The footrest 19 can thus assume various angular positions and can also be moved along the sleeve 47. The footrest 19 has on its upper side 50 a depression corresponding to the foot in order to prevent the foot from sliding off. The opposite side 51 is designed in such a way that it offers support to the lower leg when the patient assumes a position corresponding to the setting of the chair shown in FIG. 7 with the thighs pointing essentially vertically. With this setting of the chair shown in Fig. 7, the bars 32 with the thigh supports 21, 22 are removed. The footrests 19, 20 can be pivoted inwards or outwards by pivoting the bearing head 37 about the axis of the bore 26 in the support bearing 25.

The thigh support 21 is pivotally mounted in a bracket 52 about the transverse axis 53 and the bracket itself can be pivoted about a pin 55 which is arranged at right angles to the arm 56. A spacer sleeve 54 is arranged on the pin 55. The arm 56 is mounted in a sleeve 57 which is arranged at the upper end of the rod 32 perpendicular to the rod axis. Using a set screw bolt 58 the arm 56 is clamped in the sleeve 57.

The design of the two devices 17, 18 allows the doctor to move as far as possible if the leg part 16 is located wholly or partly under the seat part 15.
