Abstract
880,273. Clamps. EICHWEDE, C. H. May 19,1960 [May 29, 1959], No. 18424/59. Class 44. A clamping device comprises a pair of U- shaped members 1, 2, spaced apart by a crosspiece 9 secured to the ends of member arms 3, 5 the arms of each member being hinged together at the base of the U, and an end plate 10 hingedly connected to the cross-piece and adapted to span the open ends of the members 1, 2 and to be releasably secured by nut and thread means 17, 16 to the ends of member arms 4, 6. Two scaffold tubes may be clamped together by the device such that they extend either at right angles to each other or in the same direction and arcuate abutment surfaces 20, 21, 23 and 24 are provided for this purpose.
