Abstract

755,763. Sliding jaw clamps. COX, Ltd., S. March 16, 1955 [April 5, 1954], No. 9897/54. Class 44. [Also in Group XV] A clamp for secuiing exercizing apparatus (see Group XV) to a bed-rail or the like comprises an inner jaw 7 with a collar 28 encircling a column 1 and an outer jaw 9 with a V- shaped saddle 10 fitting round jaw 7. The arms of saddle 10 have pins 24 which slide in grooves 25 in the inner jaw 7 to locate the outer jaw as it is moved to and fro. A clamping screw 11 works in the cross-piece of saddle 10 and its head 26 is retained in a bore in collar 28 by a set-screw 29. When screw 11 is tightened the end 26 engages a split sleeve 8 within collar 28 to tighten it on column 1 and also draws jaws 7 and 9 together to hold the bedrail or the like as shown.
