605,816. Clamps. SANDE, A. J. Jan. 5, 1946, No. 472. Convention date, Dec. 5, 1938. [Class 61 (ii)] A four-jaw clamp for holding a cable round a thimble during splicing comprises a pair of jaws 3, 4, one of which slides on rods 7, 8 carried by the other and is secured in adjusted position by clamp screws 9, the jaws 3, 4 being provided with pivoted nuts 14, 15 and clamp screws 16, 17 for rods 11, 12 carrying another pair of pivoted jaws 5, 6 pivoted to the rods at 13 and adapted to press the cable against the sides of the thimble by means of a thrust screw 23 engaging the jaw 6 and working through a threaded hole in a cross-bar 22 carried by a pair of rods 18, 19 connected to the jaw 5, the rod 18 releasably for detaching the device.
