Abstract
1,043,362. Clamps. B. W. HARRISON. May 1, 1963 [Feb. 8, 1962], No. 4856/62. Heading E2B. A clamp comprises a clamping jaw having two members 2 interconnected in spaced apart relationship, each of the two members 2 having a curved recess including straight surfaces inclined at an angle to each other to present a substantially hooked or V-shaped part 4, and a member 7 remote such part providing a mounting for a threaded member 8 movable in a direction along an axis which is substantially parallel to a line bisecting the angle presented by the inclined surfaces and which on tightening, exerts a pressure on that surface of an article placed in the clamp which is remote from the recess and the endface of the article nearest the recess is pressed into contact with the spaced apart members. A holder 10 for a lamp is screwed to an end wall 9 of the clamp. In another arrangement, Fig. 2 (not shown) two clamps are loosely pivoted together back to back. In other arrangements, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown) the clamp comprises jaws for connecting tubes together at right angles to one another, and in a further arrangement, Fig. 5 (not shown) such a clamp is provided with a support bracket. In all arrangements a threaded member 8 may be provided over each of the recesses.
