Abstract

[Also in Division H2] A connection fitting comprises a cable gripping device consisting of a movable member 2 urged by a spring 4 towards the open end of a tapered tube 5 within an outer body 1 to grip a cable 7. The movable member has a central recess 2' on its body to receive any pointed tool for disengaging the conductor 7. The member 2 may have a further tapered surface, Fig. 2, (not shown), or may be dropshaped, Fig. 6 (not shown). This fitting may be clamped or screwed to a plug 13, Fig. 5 (not shown), and may be adapted for use as a mechanical double joint, Fig. 3, (not shown).
