An adapter for enabling a solid undersized wire to be clamped in the bore of a pinch terminal, comprises a tubular body 1 of brass, copper or aluminium, which has one or two diametral slots 3, 4 extending from each end which overlap to allow the body to be compressed by the clamping screws of the pinch terminal so as to grip the wire. The bore 2 may be internally threaded to improve electrical contact with the wire.
