Abstract

1,035,453. Binding-posts. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. April 16, 1963 [April 19, 1962], No. 15341/62. Heading H2E. A terminal connection for a conductor 1 comprises a metal block 2 with a passage 2A in which the conductor 1 is located and into which a clamping screw 3 projects, the conductor 1 being surrounded by deformable metal tubes 4, 5 which prevent separation of the conductor strands when the screw 3 is tightened. More than two tubes may be used, the number depending on the relative diameters of conductor and passage, and the tubes are preferably made of copper which is tinned or silver plated The outer tube is preferably split, and may be extended to fit over the end of the conductor insulation (Fig. 4, not shown).
