Abstract

The cylindrical metal socket is located in a respective aperture in an insulating body, with a metal ferrule attached to the end of the lead which has a form corresponding to that of the socket. The ferrule has a spiral spring fixed to its end biasing retaining elements on the socket and holding the ferrule in engagement. The socket is similar to that used to retain a British electric light bulb except that in this case only one pin and hooked groove is used.
